Day 4: The Town of Siglufjörður

Today we explored the rich history and culture of Siglufjörður. Our journey took us to the fascinating Herring Era Museum, where we learned the inspiring story of the famous herring girls whose hard work helped shape Iceland’s fishing industry.

We also visited the Poetry Museum, discovering Iceland’s unique literary heritage and centuries-old tradition of poetry and storytelling. Along the way, we stopped at the sailors’ memorial, honoring generations of seafarers, and visited the statue of Gústi Guðsmaður - a local fisherman, missionary, and beloved humanitarian whose life left a lasting impact on the community.

A day full of history, culture, and stories that bring Iceland’s past to life.

Day 3: The Town of Ólafsfjörður

Day 2: Iceland Experience

New friends, fun games, delicious cod, and a dip in warm geothermal pools... what a start!

While the teachers enjoyed local hospitality, the students spent the evening by a beautiful waterfall, gathering around a campfire to grill sausages, enjoy traditional smørrebrød sandwiches, and share laughter in a breathtaking natural setting.

With a majestic fjord, dramatic waves, and fresh sea air all around, it was the perfect Icelandic welcome.

On our Way to Tröllaskagi, Iceland!

Late at night, we finally arrived at Tröllaskagi, the Troll Peninsula of North Iceland. Our travel-worn group was greeted with smiles by Icelandic families, and by morning we were met by rain and low clouds hanging over the dramatic landscape. Even in the wet weather, the peninsula’s rugged mountains, deep valleys, and glacier-covered peaks hinted at the wild beauty that makes this place so special.
